Jacobs is seeking a Licensed Wastewater Operations Supervisor to join our treatment team in Westerly, RI. As the Wastewater Treatment Supervisor, you’ll work with project staff to oversee compliance reporting, maintenance of equipment and quality control testing. Partnering with other team members and our client, you’ll apply knowledge of the principles, methods and tools employed in the general operation of engines, pumps, valves, motors and related equipment, wastewater process control, permit compliance, and safe work practices. You’ll also have the opportunity to monitor, record and operate the wastewater treatment plant, provide SCADA system overview; diagnose operating problems and direct effective correction procedures; prepare required reports and maintain complete recordkeeping procedures; analyze recording instrument readings and process laboratory testing results and adjust various plant processes accordingly; perform plant inspections to determine and maintain efficiency of operations, cleanliness, and assist with maintenance activities including remedial action in emergencies; supervise, evaluate and train employees and perform other duties as required.

Here's what you'll need
- High school diploma or equivalent and three (3) plus years of experience in the operation of water or wastewater facilities
- State of Rhode Island Wastewater Certification Level II or ability to obtain through reciprocity within 6 months of hire
- Excellent oral and written communications, self-motivation, team-oriented work practices, strong technical problem-solving skills
- Experience with planning, scheduling operational activities and inventory control
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Valid State Driver’s license
- Knowledge of laboratory practices
- Knowledge of Industrial Pretreatment Programs
- Knowledge of safe work practices; principles and methods of biological and chemical sewage analyses, effects and problems of industrial waste in wastewater treatment processes
- Knowledge of computer software including data management systems, HACH WIMS, CMMS and possess the ability to operate plant PLC’s and SCADA systems
- Experience in Compliance Monitoring and Reporting including preparing and reviewing DMR (Discharge Monitoring Reports)
- Demonstrated ability to engage and motivate teams and to respond to emergency situations
