Position Summary:

The Program Coordinator at FamilyMatters is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of all FamilyMatters programs, ensuring they align with the organization's mission and philosophy.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Program Development: Responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of all FamilyMatters programs, including (but not limited to) Family Fun Days, Wellness Days, SibShops, Parent Support Groups, and other initiatives
  • Curriculum Innovation: Create innovative curriculums to ensure that programming activities support the unique needs of clients and their families
  • Resource Coordination: Coordinate instructors, locations, supplies, and materials for all programming activities, ensuring smooth logistics
  • Marketing and Outreach: Develop marketing materials such as flyers, e-blasts, and other publications as needed to promote agency programming. Create and provide content on programs, wellness activities, and events for all center social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter
  • Recruitment and Data Management: Handle program recruitment, maintain accurate attendance records, and collect outcome data for all programs
  • Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on program performance, successes, and other important metrics to agency leadership, funders, and other key stakeholders
  • Participant Engagement: Ensure positive and enriching experiences for children and families through effective communication, feedback, and appropriate follow-up
  • Community Needs Assessment: Identify unmet needs in the community and develop plans to address service gaps effectively. Coordinate with FamilyMatters leadership on scaling and scope of programs offered
  • Compliance and Oversight: Oversee programs to ensure they are performed according to the organization's mission, policies, procedures, and service philosophy
  • Staffing: Oversee direct care staff running programs, provide feedback and ensure all programs are being implemented with agency philosophy of care. Manage schedules, approve time sheets, and conduct performance reviews
  • Volunteer Program: Develop and manage a volunteer program, including recruitment, training, and scheduling of volunteers
  • Responsible for the collection of needed items for families such as school and camp supplies, birthday, and holiday gifts, etc.
  • Financial Management: Responsible for tracking and reporting monthly expenditures on activities, vendor payments, and supplies for programs as well as client payments when applicable

Physical requirements:

Staff must be physically capable of driving an automobile in a safe manner. Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time as needed. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms; able to lift, push or pull up to 25 lbs.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, education, or a relevant field
  • Must possess a combination of experience or relevant education, and training which indicates the possession of knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform essential job duties.
  • 5-years’ experience with relevant populations
  • Ability to take initiative in meeting required agency hours and independently maintain schedule to meet needs of clients and families.
  • An ability to effectively supervise and consult with staff regarding the above, as well as an ability to maintain an open-door policy for staff
  • A working knowledge of human development and behavior and best practice techniques.
  • Experience managing response to crisis situations and experience working as part of case management support team.
  • Flexibility of working hours will be required to meet the child and family’s needs which include evenings and weekends as needed
  • Completion of annual 40 hours in-service agency training. CPR, First Aid and Water Safety certification
  • A demonstrated ability to utilize oral and writing skills (e.g., exemplary proficiency in the use of the English language including grammar, spelling, punctuation, and composition.)
  • Valid Driver's License and a clean driving record
  • Strongly recommend maintaining Bodily Injury Liability insurance of $100,000 per claim, $300,000 per incident on their personal automobile when driving clients and their children
