Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
- Act as a key representative of financial operations to Finance executives, departments and customers.
- Prepare and provide comprehensive financial updates to senior managers, executives and stakeholders.
- Establish and enforce best practices, policies, and procedures for the Finance department.
- Collaborate with the Executive Team to advise on financial decisions and initiatives.
Financial Oversight:
- Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls, SOPs, and guidelines.
- Oversee tax accounting, treasury functions, and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Oversee all accounting operations, ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards, regulatory requirements, and
- Manage all aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Implement, maintain, and improve accounting systems, processes, tools, and control systems.
- Prepare and present financial reports for the executive team, board of directors, and investors, providing insightful analysis and strategic recommendations.
- Coordinate and manage annual audits and tax planning with external auditors and tax advisors.
- Act as the main point of contact for banks, investors, auditors, and other external parties.
Team Leadership:
- Form solid working relationships, lead, and motivate the accounting team, ensuring high performance and development.
- Assign duties and deadlines within the department to ensure goals are met.
- Supervise and evaluate accounting team performance to ensure timely, accurate reporting.
Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification or progress toward achieving CPA is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role (Assistant Controller, Controller, Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant), preferably within the healthcare industry, service industry, and/or a private equity-backed company.
- Sage experience with some working knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) and more advanced data mapping and management.
- Proven leadership skills and experience with a track record of recruiting, motivating, and developing high performing finance teams.
- Strong command of financial, tax, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong background and experience with audit methodologies and techniques including prior success managing company audit.
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic, high-growth environment with competing priorities.
- Experience with financial software and strong technical and Excel skills (Sage Intacct experience preferred).
- Exceptional communication skills, able to interact effectively at all levels of the organization and with customers.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical skills, and judgment.
- Strong organizational skills; must be able to manage and prioritize multiple business objectives and projects with the proper sense of urgency.
- Strategy skillset with ability to “get things done” across the organization with incredible efficiency, while working in a high-pressure environment.
- High EQ and strong interpersonal skills, able to build strong relationships and influence positive outcomes across the organization.
Compensation
- Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience, and will include an attractive base salary, annual bonus opportunity, and a comprehensive benefits package.
