Position Overview:
The Controller will be responsible for managing the financial operations of the company, including accounting, financial reporting, and compliance. This role will be part of the executive team and provide financial insights and recommendations that drive strategic decision-making and support the overall growth of the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, preferably with experience in the title insurance or real estate industry. The candidate must be located in the Tampa Bay area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting operations, including cash, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities. Manage cash flow and working capital to optimize financial performance. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics, providing regular updates to senior management.
- Review cash reconciliations for compliance with internal controls and ensuring that reconciling items are resolved in a timely manner.
- Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports. Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion. Oversee the preparation of annual financial statements and own the coordination with external auditors.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, including state and federal tax filings and audits.
- Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records. Identify and implement system improvements and process enhancements to drive efficiency and reduce costs.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a management role.
- Experience in the title insurance or real estate is preferred.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Proven experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
- Quickbooks experience preferred

Salary : $95,000 - $135,000
