POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Material Coordinator to manage the flow of materials, ensure proper documentation, and maintain compliance with government traceability requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and computer skills, experience handling government documentation, and a background in material receiving and inventory management.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Material Handling & Coordination
- Oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials that are GFM/CFM.
- Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, packing lists, and government traceability requirements.
- Maintain inventory accuracy by tracking materials using ERP systems and spreadsheets.
- Government Document Traceability
- Ensure all materials are documented according to government contract requirements and industry regulations.
- Maintain compliance with federal and contractual material control policies, including retention and auditing of records.
- Work closely with quality assurance teams to ensure traceability of all received materials.
- Organization & Inventory Management
- Maintain detailed records of inventory transactions and reconcile discrepancies.
- Implement best practices for storage, labeling, and organization of materials.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and audits to ensure accurate material availability.
- Computer & Reporting Skills
- Use inventory management systems, spreadsheets, and databases to track materials.
- Generate reports related to stock levels, material movements, and compliance status.
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide up-to-date material availability reports.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience in material coordination, inventory management, or logistics.
- Strong knowledge of government document traceability and compliance regulations.
- Proficiency in inventory management software (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and move materials as required.
ADDITIONAL:
- Experience working with government contracts, DoD, or aerospace industries.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or other industry standards.
- Certification in inventory management, logistics, or supply chain (CPIM, CML, etc.).
- Must be able to move up to 50 lbs.
- Must be willing to work in an outside/inside environment.
