Operations Manager – The Exchange Pickleball Bar (New Orleans, LA)

Location: New Orleans, LA (Hybrid)

Role Type: Full-time

Pay Rate: $45,000 base bonus 

Schedule: Approximately 50 hours per week, time of day can very but routinely M-F daytime schedule 


The Exchange Pickleball Bar is seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to oversee daily business operations, ensuring smooth and efficient management of the front desk, bar, facility maintenance, and overall venue experience. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, organizational, and customer service skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments to drive efficiency and enhance guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide oversight and management of front desk with accountability for staff scheduling and adherence to job responsibilities (see below for list of front desk activities/job responsibilities)
  • Provide oversight and management of the Bar at the Exchange with accountability for staff scheduling and adherence to job responsibilities (see below for list of bar-related activities)
  • With input from the leadership team, serve as lead buyer and contact with vendors for merchandise sales
  • Coordinate with owner and Pickleball Manager, in responding to, managing and appropriately storing data regarding requests for sponsorships
  • Develop and implement checklists for staff to follow regarding opening and closing procedures at the Exchange
  • Oversee facility maintenance (indoor and outdoor), develop punch list of daily, weekly, monthly maintenance activities for relevant staff to execute, order supplies, manage contract with external janitorial service, and hire security personnel as necessary
  • Input pricing into Toast and provide upkeep and troubleshooting for all company databases including: play-by-point; Tech-Mar, Toast, Courant, etc.
  • Coordinate with accountant on bi-weekly payroll including any reporting of accrued tips and manage accounts payable
  • Collaborate with Pickleball manager and Events manager on staffing events and serve as occasional POC for events held at the Exchange; be able to enter event correctly in POS system.
  • Be able to post templates to the website, facebook and Instagram 
  • Develop agendas, follow-up meeting notes and collaboratively problem-solve issues, celebrate successes, and understand company financials through regular meetings with the owner(s) and colleagues on the leadership team
  • Work the front desk for TBD hours while delivering on the above management responsibilities, and be available and on-site for TBD hours per week


Venue & Operational Marketing Support:

  • Work closely with the Food & Beverage team to manage menu updates across all digital and in-venue platforms
  • Regularly gather and act on guest feedback to continuously improve the marketing offerings
  • Develop and manage signage and display strategies to drive food & bev, program, and merchandise sales.
  • Develop year-long and seasonal global calendar and product set strategies, leading brainstorms and presenting plans to cross-functional teams.
  • Develop and implement marketing campaigns to execute tactical promotions that drive revenue, traffic, and engagement
  • Ensure signage, decor, and all visual elements feel aligned with brand standards.
  • Create some content for the website, email newsletters, and some social media (for example, using premade templates and posting for last minute changes in calendar, closings, or late offerings.

  • Member sales and account management including monitoring use of court times and cancellations

  • Bar Management Activities
  • Manage inventory and oversee purchasing of supplies for all bar-related sales
  • Manage relationships between distributors and alcohol reps 
  • Keep current all bar and food-related licenses
  • Create system for tipping out bar tenders and front desk who may assist in ordering at times.  
  • Collaborate closely with the kitchen lead and events manager on scheduling staff for events, food service, etc.
  • Create system for opening and closing bar

Qualifications:
  • Experience: 3 years in operations management, hospitality, or a related field. Experience in bar/restaurant or recreation facility management is a plus.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, multitasking, and organizational abilities. Proficiency in software like Toast, Play-by-Point, and social media platforms.
  • Attributes: Hands-on problem solver, detail-oriented, customer-focused, and team-driven. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Availability: Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings, weekends, and on-site hours.
Compensation & Benefits:
  • Base pay range: $45,000 - 55,000
