Job Summary:
The Jake's Restaurant Expeditor is responsible for communicating and coordinating all restaurant food orders between waitstaff and cooks. This position is a kitchen position that requires an understanding of kitchen line station flows, hot line, cold line, prepping and dishwasher stations. The expediter must have cooking experience in all cooking stations. The expediter also works with the food runners in ensuring high quality dishes are delivered to our guests in a timely manner. Expediters also must handle complaints or issues as they arise with a calm demeanor and a guest hospitality focus that resolves problems.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Actively practice exceptional hospitality, utilizing S.A.N.E., Finding the Yes, and Collecting and Connecting Dots.
- Embody and practice the Company Purpose (Creating Happiness) and Four Core Qualities (Friendliness, Show, Delight and Promptness).
- Follow standards of service/mystery shop standards with each and every guest, each and every time.
- Be a Creative Problem Solver-do what’s needed to make the guest happy.
- Attend all scheduled staff meetings and supplemental training sessions, being attentive and taking notes when appropriate.
- Arrive to work on time and consistently follow shift schedule.
- Be familiar with and follow all safety protocol including emergency, COVID, health department/food safety, and alcohol awareness.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that promotes harmony with guests, co-workers, and management.
- Perform additional duties as requested by management.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage order flow.
- Make sure that all the orders are prepared in time.
- Assist and manage the final preparation of different food and dishes.
- Control and oversee dishes before they leave the kitchen.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant quality and sanitation rules and regulations.
- Provide assistance in cleaning activities.
- Serve as a contact point for the kitchen and the wait staff.
- Take care of customers with special needs and requests.
- Ensure excellent client service.
- Give suggestions for the improvement of the restaurant’s offerings and reputation.
- Execute a variety of different tasks as needed in accordance with managers requests and directions.
