Job Description
This position entails a range of both pre- and post-award activities, including grant writing, project administration, and compliance. The work requires knowledge of common proposal development components, strong writing skills, and familiarity with grant regulations. Applicants should possess the skills to quickly identify the details needed for project development and the ability to transform those details into a competitive application. The work requires strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently. Strong writing and editing skills are required. Work is performed primarily in an office environment, but occasional field work may be required.
Examples of Work
- Composes project narratives and prepares documents in response to funding notices. Examples include creation of the Problem, Goals, Scope of Work and Milestones sections of a proposal.
- Evaluates funding notices to determine eligibility and applicability.
- Fosters professional contacts with project points of contact, local partners, and program officers.
- Drafts financial and programmatic reports and accurately tracks progress.
- Facilitates the submission of financial and programmatic grant adjustments.
- Ensures compliance on grant projects.
- Compiles documents for funder-initiated monitoring and audit requests.
- Follows developing trends in criminal justice.
- Completes special projects as assigned and performs related duties as required.
- May be required to work after hours and on weekends, episodically, to meet deadlines.
