Jamaica Hospital has a career opportunity for a Payroll Specialist with a minimum of five years experience in payroll and working with INFOR, Kronos, and Lawson payroll software systems.
Responsibilities:
- Responsibilities include the management of the bi-weekly in-house payroll preparation process for 2,000 Union and Non Union employees.
- Prepare quarterly and annual payroll tax reconciliation, including W-2 processing and solving complex or unusual problems.
- Respond to verbal and written payroll related inquiries
- Partner with HR and Benefits to ensure timely and accurate deductions of voluntary deductions, medical, dental, 401K, transit and other benefits; process all garnishments
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or institution in Accounting or Finance
- A minimum of five years of payroll experience
- Knowledge of Lawson and Workday software and Kronos time and attendance systems, strongly preferred
- Must demonstrate the ability to establish work priorities and apply financial accounting principles and methods to daily tasks
- Strong problem solving, data analysis, and evaluation skills and work with a sense of urgency and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Current knowledge of payroll procedures and applicable laws
- Proficient in spreadsheets (preferably Excel) and other tools for financial analysis and reporting
- Ability to work effectively with an integrated management team.
Jamaica Hospital, a 402 bed fully accredited community teaching hospital with a Level I trauma center and a large network of community based ambulatory care and one of the largest voluntary hospital ambulance fleet serving the City 911 system.
