Responsibilities
- Works with insurance companies and other benefit providers to select the best plans for the company.
- Administers 403B, health, dental, vision and Health Savings Accounts (HSA).
- Manages enrollments, status changes, and terminations.
- Manage benefit yearly renewal process.
- Answers employee questions related to plans.
- Oversees employee Workers' Compensation claims, disability claims, and Paid Family Leave, and advises employees on these benefits, and the procedures to take.
- Working with the finance department sends in all required employer forms for Worker Compensation and disability claims.
- Fill out employer FROI reports for the insurance company and EC board on the insurance website.
Onboarding
- Manages all aspects of new employee onboarding using HR Cloud for ADP.
- Learn onboarding system, add new employees into HR Cloud.
- Respond to new hires and managers when onboarding stalls.
- Ensure new hire completes all required tasks.
- Setting up work credentials including emails and Google work accounts for full-time staff
- Communicates with hiring manager regarding missing and completed task of new hires
- Work with HR Cloud chat group to make changes on portal, add or eliminate tasks, resolve issues.
- Process new hires into ADP payroll system using HR Cloud onboarding integration with ADP.
- Enter in new hires tax information, job codes and wage rates.
Performance Evaluation
- Manage the process of performance evaluations using the HR Cloud Perform platform, guiding, training, helping managers with the 30, 90 and yearly evaluations, and updating performance questions as needed.
Communication
- Communicate with marketing director to develop a monthly employee e-newsletter using Constant Contact.
- Maintain email list of employees to send e-newsletter to.
- Select pertinent, relevant HR-Related articles to share with the marketing director.
Training
- Research or provide training courses and tools to help managers legally navigate employee relations and issues.
- Provide safety training to managers to help prevent WC claims and what procedures to take when issues happen.
Special Projects
- Take on relevant HR projects and implement new systems to help with the growth of the organization as needed.
General HR Support
- Research employment laws and federal and state regulations regarding employment to keep in compliance.
- Develop policies in compliance with Federal and State laws.
- Seek legal counsel with lawyer when legal matters arise.
- Reviews employee handbooks and policies and makes updates.
- Distributes revised employee handbook to staff, upload to ADP homepage and HR Cloud.
- Maintains human resource files and documents.
- Provides counseling and advice to management and employees.
- Undertake tasks around performance management.
- Responds to unemployment insurance changes.
- Working with Harriman team to develop and revise job descriptions.
Payroll
- Complete function of Workforce Now ADP Payroll including bi-weekly payroll for Harriman Programs.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates degree and three years of experience in an HR office.
- Experience with ADP Workforce NOW or similar platform and Payroll preferred.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Highly organized and pays attention to details.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
