Title: Shift Leader
Department: Operations
Reporting Relationship: General Manager
Primary Role:
A Shift Leader is responsible for overall shift operations, customer experience, sales performance and execution of brand excellence in a store. In the absence of the General Manager, the shift leader effectively is the store leader. Shift leaders typically supervise a staff of 1-15 team members by carrying out leading operation responsibilities consistent with Jamba Juice policies, procedures and legal requirements.
Essential Functions:
General
· Responsible for maintaining shift operations excellence
· Ensures that the store appearance and cleanliness are to Jamba standards Refer to: excellence program guide & visual standards
· Demonstrates exceptional shift leadership behaviors
· Communicates all shift issues, concerns and needs to the store General Manager
· Responds to directives in an accurate and timely manner
· Recognizes and rewards outstanding performance of shift team members
· Educate and engage the community and store customers on all of Jamba’s products & services
· Other duties as assigned- may include scheduling, inventory, meetings and training.
Customer Service
· Demonstrates an excellent level of customer service
· Motivates and mentors team members to deliver customer service excellence
· Accountable for the customer engagement experience on the shift
· Provide customers with product suggestions and information
· Motivates & mentors team members on providing customers with product suggestions & information
· Maintain exceptional customer service metric scores
· Enhance customer experience through engagement and sampling & use of banana-man suit.
Operations
· Open and/or close store as required. Perform all safety and security tasks, i.e. alarms, two-person rule, as required to close the store
· Coach, counsel and direct Team Members. Lead the team in execution of Jamba standards following the Jamba on Stage Values to create an excellent customer experience. Provide performance feedback to Team Members. Document coaching discussions and corrective actions.
· Lead shifts while acting as leader in charge of the store. Deploy Team Members as required to meet business demands and make necessary staffing decisions
· Communicate clearly, concisely and accurately in order to ensure effective shift operations
· Follow all food safety, cash handling and operations procedures and policies
· Coordinate and participate off site program customer visits and deliveries
Human Resources
· Train and on-board new Team Members on both front- and back-of-house procedures
· Provides constructive performance feedback to the store team members
· Participate in the interviewing and hiring process for new team members
Business Management
· Must be at least 18 years of age
· Must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week; must be able to work a variable shift (openings, mid-day shifts and closings) from week-to-week
· Ability to organize and lead others is required
· High School graduate or commensurate Jamba experience required, enrolled in college or college degree preferred
· Computer skills including some Microsoft software and register skills
· Must be able to lift 30-40 lbs regularly throughout shifts Ability to stand, bend, reach and scoop through-out assigned shift
· Ability to be mobile in walk-in refrigerator and freezer with temperatures ranging from 40 degrees to -10 degrees F
· Shift Leaders are eligible for tips
