The Lean Specialist is responsible for executing specific lean initiatives and projects with a goal to achieve workplace organization through continuous improvement by working inclusively and cross functionally. This position reports to the Lean Manager.
What You’ll Do:
- Assists with the implementation of Lean Manufacturing goals and strategies for improving the operations and processes within the organization.
- Employs lean methodologies and tools to accomplish business objectives.
- Accountable for teaching, leading and executing process excellence initiatives.
- Serve as a change agent for developing and encouraging a culture that is driven by innovation, accountability and transparency.
- Foster cultural transformations through mentoring of executive leadership, organizational training and hands-on project support with operators on the production floor.
- Train teams through development and implementation of continuous improvement tools and best practice share across the network including learning material, standard work, driven metrics and measurement tools to ensure process improvement initiatives are aligned with overall company strategy.
- Apply wide range of process improvement tools to assist in identifying and eliminating waste and support growth including: Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping, Visual Management, Gemba Planning and Facilitation, Flow Concepts, and Problem Solving.
- Drive inclusive and cross functional teams to Best-In-Class performance in People, Quality, Material Flow, Information Flow and Cost.
- Create an environment where all employees have increased opportunities to contribute to the success of the business and the security of their future through Continuous Improvement efforts.
- Take initiative to apply Lean expertise innovatively in support of the organizational vision that addresses critical business issues and focuses on developing long-term, sustainable solutions.
- Serve as knowledge and subject matter expert and contact for organization.
- Other duties as assigned
What You’ll Bring:
- Degree is preferred, lean certifications a plus
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in leading process improvement projects in manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication skills; comfortable in front of all levels of the organization, as well as external customers.
- Experience using process improvement tools.
- Capable of working independently under ambiguous and/or changing conditions.
- Demonstrated ability to function independently in a high-impact position, with deadline and resource constraints.
- Excellent decision making and organisational skills
- Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company’s success
- Good time-management skills
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and database software
