STOREROOM ASSOCIATE
Position Summary
The Storeroom Associate will play a crucial role in the industrial storeroom/warehouse team, ensuring that Maintenance and Factory materials are readily available for the site's efficient operation. Must demonstrate behavior that aligns with our Safety Values, Guiding Principles, and Lean Systems.
Position Responsibilities
- Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage Low Stock Inventory: Run Low Stock Report, Obtain Quotes, and Enter Requisitions
- Initiate contact with the appropriate suppliers and coordinate the rush delivery of items needed in a breakdown or emergency situation. This might involve weekends and nights.
- Weekly inventory check for problem parts
- Help Mechanics/Electricians/Production/Engineers with procurement and/or storage for projects.
- Setup FedEx shipments
- Inventory Counts using manual and computer-generated reports to reconcile inventory supplies; analyze discrepancies and research issues
- Manage Tool Allowances for Shift Mechanics and Electricians
- Assists team members with troubleshooting issues and providing appropriate resources plantwide
- Communication with various levels of management, departmental supervisors, employees from other departments and occasional vendor representatives
- Learn all the roles in the storeroom to be able to fill-in when needed
- Maintain Storeroom area in a neat, orderly and safe condition
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements
- Demonstrated skills with the standard features of various personal computer word processing and spreadsheet software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, and other proprietary software).
- Experience with a computer maintenance management system (CMMS), such as MP2, SAP, or HEXAGON or similar system.
- Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills with the ability to relate well and cooperate with others to effectively coordinate activities and accomplish goals.
- Demonstrated ability to pay attention to detail and continual diligence about follow-up.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to speak at all levels, (i.e., operators, vendors, corporate project teams)
- Well organized with the ability to multi-task.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Sound judgment, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to manage the flow of all required information and documentation.
- Strong desire to learn and prepared for continuous improvement environment.
Physical Requirements
- Position requires walking and giving direction most of the working day; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 10 hours in length. Must be able to lift 15-40lbs on a regular and continuing basis. Must be able to walk, stand, sit, bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks.
- Physically capable of driving a forklift.
Education/Experience Requirements
- 3 or more years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with specific examples related to the following:
- Storeroom Operations
- Purchasing
- Mechanical Aptitude
- Possessing college experience is beneficial.
