What are the responsibilities and job description for the Guest Services Team Lead position at James Madison's Montpelier?
This position plays an integral role in all aspects of Montpelier's Visitor Center and Museum Shop operations and takes on a leadership role in providing outstanding customer service to all Monpelier visitors as they tour the historic shite. All Guest Services staff must be able to provide current information about Montpelier's daily tour and special event schedule to all guests, along with helpful advice about touring the grounds, shopping in the retail shop and dining in the cafe. The Guest Services Team Lead oversees, manages and performs all aspects of the daily operation of both the ticketing sales operation as well as the Museum Shop.
Duties:
Trains new associates in ticket and retail sales, including follow-up to ensure continued education regarding the various aspects of James Madison's Montpelier.
Performs all aspects of ticket and retail sales, including: Sale of daily house tours to onsite and online visitors. Sale of speciality tours. Group sales and VIP tours. Receive and price retail inventory. Store merchandising and in-store and online gift shop sales.
Greets and assists all visitors and fellow associates in a friendly and courteous manner.
Communicates effectively between various departments.
Provides comphrehensive visitor assistance, ensuring that all Montpelier visitors view their experience as a pleasant and educational experience.
Coaches Guest Services Associates as necessary to improve customer service.
Opens and closes the Visitor Center and Museum Shop in accordance with the department's operations procedures.
Assists in directing the workflow of sales associates.
Assists team in executing Foundation standards in all areas of the Visitor Center and Museum Shop.
