We're searching for an Accounting Supervisor to join our Tax team in our Gainesville office. This position is responsible for all facets of client engagements, including supervising preparers and directing the day-to-day progress of engagements. This role requires a combination of technical accounting expertise and client relationship management to serve as a liaison between clients and the Firm. The Supervisor is responsible for maintaining high-quality service delivery and developing employees under their supervision.

What you will do in the Supervisor role:
- Apply appropriate accounting and tax knowledge on workpapers and assignments to ensure accurate and reliable data for clients’ needs.
- Utilize accounting and tax software to perform routine client data entry, tasks, and documentation.
- Partner with team leaders to ensure the appropriate amount of work is distributed among the team and the firm as needed.
- Train and delegate various types of projects to employees while ensuring standards are being met.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and preparers regarding accounting-related inquiries, issues, and recommendations.
- Validate the accuracy of client-submitted documentation, identify and resolve discrepancies, and communicate necessary clarifications. Escalate issues as needed.
- Complete complex tax returns accurately and efficiently.
- Contribute to the tax planning and projections process.
- Perform technical quality control review of workpapers and other engagement items.
- Develop in industries and service lines to grow specialized knowledge.
- Participate in recruiting events as a representative of the department to provide candidates with information about career opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory accounting and tax standards, staying abreast of industry updates and best practices.
- Collaborate across various organizational departments and work with cross-functional teams to execute goals.
- Comply with the Firm’s training and continuous education requirements.
- Meet the Firm’s guidelines for productivity and utilization standards.
- Work with the Firm’s management team to actively lead and monitor performance goals such as chargeable hours, growth, profitability, and innovation.
- Manage the lifecycle of projects, client engagements, business operations and/or subordinates.
What you'll bring to the table:
- This position requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related discipline as well as 3 years of experience in tax accounting.
- Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills as well as high-level analytical and reasoning skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of CCH Axcess Suite.
- Certified Public Accountant or Enrolled Agent preferred.
- Prior experience in a supervisory position preferred.
