Job Summary

The Claims Data Automation & Analytics Intern Analyst will work with our Data, Analytics and Automation teams to support projects related to automation, data management, and the implementation/optimization of tools built on Microsoft Power Apps and SharePoint. This role offers hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies and an opportunity to work alongside industry experts in a collaborative, entrepreneurial and innovative environment.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Obtain a thorough understanding of the insurance industry
  • Assist in the development and optimization of Power Apps and SharePoint-based solutions, including SharePoint Lists, Forms, and basic Power Automate workflows, while learning the technical aspects of each tool
  • Assist in building and updating Power BI dashboards, learning how to create data visualizations, and understanding reporting structures
  • Work with SQL/SQL Server to manage, optimize, and maintain databases, including querying, troubleshooting, and improving performance
  • Observe and assist in collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand business needs, helping to translate those needs into technical solutions
  • Assist in documenting processes, configurations, and best practices for future reference
  • Assist in ground-to-cloud Azure data movement projects (preferred but not required)
  • Assist with monthly operational reporting, dashboards, metrics, and KPIs including reserve committees and portfolio reviews
  • Assist with interdepartmental projects, processes, and reports between Accounting, Actuarial, Reinsurance and Claims
  • Assist in basic modeling for the purpose of quantifying the performance of the business area and evaluating operational changes
  • Assist in interpreting data and identifying relevant analyses and possible solutions
  • Assist with the building of dashboards (using excel and/or Proprietary Software) and helps with the preparation of reports to Senior Consultants and/or Management
  • Provide support in building and maintaining dashboards using Excel and/or proprietary software

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Developing knowledge of using databases (SQL)
  • Developing knowledge in data visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, QlikView
  • Developing proficiency in PowerApps, SharePoint, SharePoint Lists, Forms and Power Automate.
  • Developing analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience And Education

  • Active enrollment at an accredited institution in Math, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred
