Job Summary
The Premium Auditor completes all assigned premium audits adhering to company standards and industry regulations, under direct supervision, for small size accounts in multiple states.
Duties and Responsibilities
Continuously exhibit and uphold Core Values of Integrity, Accountability, Communication and Teamwork, Innovation and Customer ServiceComplete virtual and mail premium audits for assigned accounts within established guidelines and best practices with direct oversightPerform examinations of policyholders accounting and financial records ensuring accurate calculation of earned premium for risks of simple complexityAudit small premium accounts in all industries for select linesFollow all industry, state, and company guidelines in the completion of auditsNotify internal (Underwriting, Actuarial, UW Services, Finance) teams of concerns with assigned accountsAssist in researching, responding to and revising (when appropriate) disputed auditsSchedule and perform year end audits and cancellation audits on assigned accountsRespond to underwriter and insured requests and questions regarding premium auditsVerify risk classification and class codes of policyholder operationsAssist with preparing a detailed report of audit resultsInterview external client contacts (i.e., accounting dept at insured; broker; CPA firm of insured; payroll / bookkeeping company of insured; etc.) for required audit documentationCommunicate audit results to internal and external client contactsPerform other duties and assignments as directed by department managementKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Basic knowledge of general business, insurance, and accounting principlesBasic knowledge of insurance premium audit operationsStrong analytical skillsAbility to exercise sound judgement in making critical decisionsAttention to detailExcellent organizational skillsProven ability to provide exceptional customer serviceAbility to work successfully as an individual contributor and in a team environmentAbility to convey technical audit information in a clear and concise mannerExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Experience and Education
Premium Auditor
High School diploma requiredAssociates or bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration or related field preferredMinimum of one year experience as a Premium Auditor preferredMinimum of one year of work experience in customer service or office environment requiredCertifications (APA, AINS) preferredPremium Auditor II
