HIRING SALARY RANGE HIRING SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with Education and ExperienceThe Sociology Instructor plans, develops, delivers, and evaluates assigned day or evening courses, evaluates student performance, and serves as an academic advisor to students. The Sociology Instructor is also responsible for maintaining student records and submitting reports in a timely manner. The position reports to the Dean of Arts and Sciences. Note: Applications will be reviewed continuously, and the vacancy will remain posted until filled.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities the ability to perform the essential functions.Teaching students in the subject area of Sociology that may include seated, online, or hybrid format.Submitting required reports and maintaining accurate student recordsDeveloping and managing course syllabi and ensuring that the syllabus meets department and college requirements.Planning and creating lectures, in-class discussions, and assignments.Grading assigned papers, quizzes, and exams.Assessing grades for students based on participation, performance in class, assignments, and examinations.Reporting student learning outcomes, class reviews, and analyzing student data.Collaborating with colleagues on course curriculum.Advising students on how to be successful to achieve goals.Staying updated on innovations and changes within their course load.Acquire computer/technology competencies as appropriate to position.Maintain security of personal computer access.Perform other professional or job-related duties as assigned.Serve on college committees as directed by supervisor.
