Job Summary:
The I.T. Support Specialist is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of computer-related equipment and systems that support business operations. This includes but is not limited to laptops, desktops, communication devices, tablets, smartphones, printers, and network infrastructure. The I.T. Support Specialist plays a key role in supporting end users by delivering timely and effective assistance, ensuring a seamless technology experience and ensuring optimal performance, security, and efficiency across all IT-related assets. The I.T. Support Specialist is also responsible for helping manage and maintain accurate documentation of IT systems, troubleshooting procedures, and support requests to enhance efficiency and knowledge sharing within the organization.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide first-level support for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems and network infrastructure.
- Respond to help desk requests and document solutions.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as updates, backups, and system monitoring.
- Support users in resolving technical issues related to PCs, printers, and other peripherals.
- Assist in managing and maintaining inventory of IT equipment.
- Participate in projects related to IT infrastructure improvement and expansion.
- Collaborate with the IT Manager on cybersecurity initiatives and compliance requirements.
- Learn and implement best practices for network security and data protection.
- Contribute to the development of IT policies and procedures.
Job Requirements:
- · Associate's degree in Information Technology, or Computer Science.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A , Network , Security , or Tech , are a plus.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
- Understanding of hardware components and troubleshooting techniques.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Eagerness to learn and grow within the IT field.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals.
- Exposure to compliance standards such as ISO, NIST, or CMMC.
- Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure, etc).
