Are you a driven, customer-focused sales professional who thrives on building relationships and closing deals? James & Whitney Co. is looking for an Exterior Sales Specialist to join our Portsmouth, New Hampshire location. In this role, you’ll own the sales process from first contact to final completion, guiding homeowners through exterior upgrades with confidence. You'll work closely with our Sales Director to provide exceptional service, deliver high-quality exterior solutions, and achieve revenue goals.

 

What You’ll Do

Sales & Customer Engagement

  • Drive new business through networking, door-to-door canvassing, referrals, and community events.
  • Respond to incoming leads immediately via phone to schedule site visits and improve close rates.
  • Conduct 15-20 site visits per week, educating homeowners and providing expert exterior inspections.
  • Generate and deliver quotes within 24 hours to maintain momentum and build trust.
  • Manage your pipeline effectively in our CRM to ensure no lead is overlooked.
  • Maintain company pricing standards and monitor sales margins to ensure profitability.
  • Follow up with customers to secure referrals and gather feedback for continuous improvement.

Collaboration & Teamwork

  • Work closely with the Sales Director to develop and execute revenue-driving strategies.
  • Accurately communicate project details within our CRM and contracts to support the production team.
  • Assist the Project Manager with sourcing materials when needed—because we’re a team!
  • Attend all sales meetings and training sessions to sharpen your skills and stay ahead of industry trends.
  • Contribute to marketing efforts by brainstorming and implementing new sales strategies.

What We Expect from You

 

We set high standards for our sales team. Success in this role means:

  • $3,000,000 in annual revenue—this is a non-negotiable benchmark.
  • Maintaining at least a 40% margin on all sales.
  • Immediate lead response via phone and consistent CRM management.
  • In-depth knowledge of roofing systems and exteriors to educate customers throughout the sales process.

General Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean, professional company vehicle and report any necessary repairs.
  • Work with the admin team to register and insure the vehicle.
  • Track and submit company credit card usage for accountability.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 90 lbs, climb ladders, bend, stoop, and work in various weather conditions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
