Position Description:

Part-time, 25 hours/week, 7:45 AM-12:45 PM Monday-Friday. Create, prepare, and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages following recipes and customer preferences. Keep track of inventory related to beverage service and notify supervisor of ordering needs. Train new baristas.

Essential Functions:

1. Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages, following recipes and customer preferences.
2. Provide excellent customer service, ensuring a positive experience for all customers.
3. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the coffee bar and seating areas.
4. Handle cash and card transactions accurately.
5. Take inventory of all beverage-related products (coffee beans, syrups, milks, cups, sleeves, lids, teas, coffee stirrers, etc.)
6. Train new baristas in the preparation of beverages.
7. Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, syrups, milk, and other drink-related supplies.
8. Conduct regular inventory checks and maintain accurate records.
9. Order drink supplies from approved vendors and ensure timely delivery
10. Manage stock rotation to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
11. Assist in training new baristas and staff in drink preparation, customer service, and shop procedures.
12. Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Required: Previous experience as a Barista or in a similar role. Strong knowledge of coffee and tea preparation techniques. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to manage inventory and ordering processes.

Must possess strong communication and interpersonal/human relations, commitment to providing excellent customer service with a friendly and approachable demeanor, problem solving, leadership, and organizational skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and some holidays.

Additional Information:

Salary: $16/hour. Excellent benefits package, including medical and dental insurance, paid vacation and sick leave, and NYS retirement.
