About the Role:
As a Buyer, you’ll own your buylines, building relationships with suppliers, vendors, and key stakeholders throughout the organization. You will be assigned a wide variety of buylines focused on our core product lines. You will join a team of other buyers that will work closely to monitor all inventory levels, stock items, special order products, and promotions. Each buyer plays a critical role in making sure their buylines are managed appropriately, communicating accurate lead times, stock outs, backorders, and any other information gathered from vendors. This fun and exciting position will challenge you to learn multiple different skills and areas of the business and grow in your professional career!
What You’ll Do:
- Monitor purchase orders with accuracy and efficiency
- Deliver a weekly purchase order report to supervisors that indicates the invoice number for all closed orders
- Work with the warehouse team to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned orders and report any backordered or missing products
- Assist the Purchasing Manager with maintaining inventory levels and materials on a regular basis
- Independently manage a set of buylines: maintain property inventory levels, part number data, receiving accuracy, and supplier management
- Identify trends within the business and react accordingly to ensure timely stock
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring:
- 2-4 years of experience preferred
- Team-first attitude with enthusiasm for tackling new challenges as they arise
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to work with clients and suppliers to reach better deals for the company
- Exceptional self-direction and time management skills with a proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy of purchase orders
- Basic math skills to ensure accurate calculations and avoid any unforeseen losses for the company
- An understanding of purchase order software platforms
- IT skills to troubleshoot essential computer programs. Highly proficient with Google Suite or similar software with the ability to learn new or updated software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bonus if you have a passion for boating, making, or DIY
