Join our team at JAN Resources as a Herbicide Sprayer! This position involves performing herbicide spraying operations with a focus on safety and effective application in compliance with company protocols and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Trip Vehicle Inspection Conduct a thorough pre-trip inspection of company vehicle and spray trailer through KPA (Key Performance Area).
Preparation for Spraying Fill the spray tank with water. Accurately measure and add the required chemicals and dye to the spray tank. Top off the truck, spray pump, and gas can with fuel before departure.
Site Assessment Utilize Google Earth to measure the area designated for spraying. Use a weather app to determine wind direction and speed to ensure optimal spraying conditions.
Herbicide Application Apply herbicide to the perimeter of the location and around all equipment and tanks present on site. Monitor and adjust spraying techniques as necessary to ensure thorough coverage.
Documentation and Reporting Record the total gallons of chemical sprayed for each location upon completion. Upon returning to the yard, fill out spray records for each site sprayed. Submit completed records to the manager for invoice preparation and email distribution.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Prior experience in agricultural spraying or related field preferred.
Knowledge of herbicides and their safe application methods.
Ability to read maps and utilize technology for site measurements.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials.
Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
