Senior Accountant
Janel Group is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage the financial accounting, and assist in reporting functions at the segment company and consolidated (parent) company. As an accounting leader of an ambitious, growing public company, the Senior Accountant will have the unique opportunity to improve financial management processes and expand the role to strategic functions.
This position is based in our Garden City, NY office.
Primary Responsibilities:
Janel Group is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage the financial accounting, and assist in reporting functions at the segment company and consolidated (parent) company. As an accounting leader of an ambitious, growing public company, the Senior Accountant will have the unique opportunity to improve financial management processes and expand the role to strategic functions.
This position is based in our Garden City, NY office.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Participate in the monthly close process at business segment(s)
- Lead process improvement projects across various accounting departments
- Participate in general internal controls improvement efforts of the company
- Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes
- Prepare SEC filings including Forms 10-K and 10-Q
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field, required
- 3-5 years experience working in public accounting, required
- Experience in preparing or reviewing SEC filings, required
- CPA, preferred
