- Maintains student records including daily attendance documentation
- Assigns substitute paraprofessionals and teachers as needed
- Assists families in joining the JWP school district
- Maintains and prepares student data for required state reporting
- Responds to records requests in a thorough and timely manner
- Assists visitors to the office, including students, parents, substitutes, teachers and other staff, vendors, maintenance workers, and others
- Processes incoming mail for the purpose of sorting items in terms of importance and known priorities; processes outgoing mail
- Responds to inquiries (including in-person, email, and phone call) from students, parents, and employees; provides information, facilitates communication, and provides direction
- Performs various day-to-day office management tasks
- Composes routine and complex documents for the purpose of communicating information to school and district personnel, students, parents, and the public
- Attends meetings as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions and meet record-keeping obligations
- Maintains documents and records for the purpose of providing up-to-date reference, retrieval, and audit trail for the Elementary Principal and for compliance
- As a member of the clerical team, completes other district-wide clerical work as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the Elementary Office and School District operations
- Ability to describe problems and situations verbally or in writing to supervisor as needed

Elementary Secretary
General Definition of Work
The Elementary Secretary will work with the Elementary Principal and other Administrative staff to facilitate the operations of the Elementary School and Office. The Elementary Secretary also provides administrative and secretarial support to the Elementary Principal and serves as the primary point of contact for the Elementary School.
