Jani-King International, Inc. is looking for an innovative, inspiring, team-oriented Director of Human Resources. The HR Director is responsible for supporting the administration of HR policies, procedures and practices for Jani-King International. You will collaborate with the leaders on the development and execution of strategies relating to change management, recruiting, leadership development, employee relations and compensation. The successful candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to actively listen to employee concerns and provide constructive feedback. You will ensure the execution of all HR strategies meets the quality, delivery and consistency of Jani-King International.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Create a cooperative atmosphere in all areas that reflects the personality of a successful, vibrant, enthusiastic company.
- Develop a recruiting strategy that aligns with the company needs and attracts top level talent. Partner with Executive Directors on recruiting. Work directly with Executive Directors, in support of the regional locations to ensure proper staffing and recruitment quality.
- Be highly involved in the evaluation, screening and selection process for all supervisors, management and executive level employees.
- Asist leadership with the organization structure, and headcount, including the future look of the human resources department as the company grows.
- Development of all levels of management, with special emphasis on Regional Sales and Operations Managers. Hold training sessions with multiple managers on various HR related topics to include sexual harassment avoidance, progressive discipline and counseling, recruiting and networking.
- Provide direction, counseling and hands-on support as needed to regional and district management personnel on HR specific issues/problems such as Employee Relations, EEOC/Legal, Harassment, Disciplinary Counseling, HR Compliance.
- Develop and ensure all corporate mandated training is properly disseminated throughout the company. (EEOC, Safety, Harassment, Staffing, Paperwork Compliance).
- Maintain knowledge of current human resources and benefit trends, laws, governmental compliance and company policies.
- Conduct employee relations investigations related to specific issues that have been brought to the Corporate Human Resources Department.
- Tracking of key information/reports pertaining to: Field training, succession planning, regional staffing needs and serious employee relation issues.
- Liaison with all Regional offices regarding changes and placements with particular emphasis on salary administration and wage decisions.
- Coordinate with Risk Management on all pertinent issues ranging from safety management/critical care to worker’s compensation to liability and loss.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to identify learning gaps and opportunities, ensuring alignment with business goals and employee needs.
- Implement training programs, career development plans, and initiatives to enhance employee skills and engagement.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of Human Resources experience.
- 3 -5 years in an HR leadership role.
- Previous experience with California employment laws and workforce.
- Strong recruiting and staffing experience.
- Advanced knowledge of Human Resource policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of all federal, state, and local HR laws.
- Proven ability to build strong relationships and trust with employees across diverse teams.
- Outstanding communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel
- Prior or current SHRM membership.
- Ability to travel as needed
