Job Summary
Graphic Designer
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Graphics Designer to support a communications contract with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). In this role, you will design and deliver high-quality visual content that enhances communication efforts, aligns with DHS branding guidelines, and effectively conveys complex information to diverse audiences.
This is a hybrid position working part time on our client site within the District of Columbia/ Arlington Virginia and from your home office.
Location: Hybrid- Client site within District of Columbia/ Arlington Virginia 3 Days a week.
Clearance: Secret

QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA in Art, Graphic Design, Information Technology, Media or Studio Arts, or related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ of demonstrated experience:
- Assisting senior staff members in design and development of posters, exhibits, publications, photos, graphic designs, brochures, reports, and other outreach materials. Designing and developing presentations, partner templates, kiosks, speeches, and fact sheets.
- Coordinating production process of all printed and interactive pieces
- Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating creativity, technical expertise, and the ability to deliver high-quality designs under tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with branding and style guidelines, particularly in government or regulated environments.
- Knowledge of video editing and motion graphics tools (e.g., Adobe After Effects or Premiere Pro).
- Active SECRET clearance
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Adaptability to shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Providing graphic design support as identified for publications, presentations, fact sheets, reports and other communications materials to enhance understanding of CISA mission and programs.
- Creating graphics, icons and other illustration material, digitally optimized and ready for the web and print use.
- Creating or refreshing templates for standard products such as fact sheets, brochures, flyers and reports.
- Creating infographics to visually depict program information for the intended audience.
- Establishing a central repository accessible by all CISA employees for icons, graphics and design templates.
- Providing design services for agency booths, displays, banners or exhibits, to include updating booth graphics as needed.
- Ensuring all graphics and products created are 508 compliant
- Work closely with the communications team, content creators, and stakeholders to conceptualize and execute design solutions.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions to translate ideas into compelling visual products.
All candidates are required to take a 10-minunite Hartman Value Profile assessment to ensure compatibility with our corporate culture and ethos. This position will require a minimum of a SECRET clearance and if you do not have one and should you be the selected candidate, we will ask our client to sponsor you for a clearance. In the event that your clearance is not approved, it may result in termination of employment.
