POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Proofer is essential in ensuring all files are print-ready. Responsibilities include downloading customer files, verifying their accuracy against intake instructions, and ensuring proper formatting, appearance, and layout for production. This role guarantees the creation of high-quality proofs and print-ready PDFs, and also involves plate-making duties.
Wage: $25-$32/hr DOE
Shift: 2pm - 10pm
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/SCOPE:
- Confirm all document information matches the print ticket and client expectations.
- Prepare customer art files for our production formats.
- Produce high quality proofs and print-ready PDFs.
- Identify and communicate issues with customer service representatives.
- Support plate production for our Press Department.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Associates degree or equivalent relevant experience required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Proficiency in Prepress software including Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Acrobat, Prinergy, and Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software and technology platforms.
- Exceptional time management skills, enabling the timely completion of tasks and effective management of multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interpret production instructions accurately and convey information in a clear, professional, and supportive manner.
- Keen attention to detail, coupled with a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy in all aspects of work.
- Demonstrated on-site work presence, exhibiting reliability, punctuality, and a proactive approach to assigned responsibilities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs.
