JARBO Employment Group is seeking an ambitious, results-driven Business Development Leader to spearhead our client's growth efforts by identifying and cultivating new business opportunities. JARBO's client, a heavy civil construction firm has been proudly serving the Kansas City Area for several decades now. Over the years, our client has established a reputation as an industry leader, consistently receiving awards and recognition for their exceptional workmanship and dedication to client satisfaction. This position will report directly to the company’s ownership and work closely with their VP of Operations and Chief Estimator to achieve revenue goals, expand their regional market presence, and strengthen the overall brand.
Key Responsibilities for the Business Development Leader :
- Relationship Building & Networking
- Identify, engage, and foster relationships with key stakeholders, including designers, owners, owners’ representatives, and general contractors.
- Cultivate new leads and maintain existing relationships to generate consistent business opportunities.
- Attend industry events and actively participate in professional organizations to expand networks and stay informed of industry trends.
- Collaboration & Strategy
- Coordinate closely with the VP of Operations and Chief Estimator to align business development strategies with company goals.
- Develop, implement, and refine business development processes and strategies, given this is a new position within the company.
- Partner with internal teams to ensure proposals, presentations, and other client-facing materials are aligned with the organization's brand and meet client needs.
- Marketing & Brand Enhancement
- Oversee the creation, improvement, and distribution of marketing materials, including social media content, to strengthen brand visibility and reputation.
- Continuously evaluate and evolve marketing strategies and campaigns based on market and client feedback.
- Leverage the company's project portfolio and industry accolades to highlight our expertise and differentiate our services in the marketplace.
- Strategic Partnerships
- Identify and develop strategic partnerships with other contractors, sub-contractors, and suppliers that enhance our competitive edge and market reach.
- Facilitate collaborative opportunities that benefit both the organization and partnering firms.
- Market Research & Analysis
- Conduct thorough market research to identify potential new markets, scopes of work, and emerging trends in heavy civil construction.
- Evaluate competitive landscape and craft strategies to position the organization effectively in both existing and new market segments.
- Sales & Communication
- Provide compelling presentations and proposals to prospective clients, showcasing our capabilities and establishing the company as a trusted partner.
- Demonstrate strong negotiation skills and sales acumen to close new deals and secure long-term contracts.
- Serve as a brand ambassador at conferences, networking events, and speaking engagements.
