JOB SUMMARY:
The Bookkeeper at Jasmin Group ensures clients' financial health and compliance with tax and regulatory requirements. Key duties include payroll management, financial reporting, accounts payable, invoicing, tax preparation, and supporting insurance setup, chart of accounts, and classifications.
Key Responsibilities and Deliverables:
- Payroll Management:
- Accurately prepare and reconcile client payroll.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws and submit payroll reports, including WA Labor & Industries, WA Employment Security, WA Paid Family & Medical Leave, and WA Long-Term Care.
- Manage and deposit federal payroll taxes via IRS EFTPS.
- Financial Reporting:
- Generate accurate financial reports to support clients' decision-making.
- Accounts Payable:
- Process payments to vendors and suppliers, ensuring timely and accurate bill payments.
- Invoice Creation:
- Create and manage invoices based on client sales and services.
- Sales & Use Tax:
- File sales and use tax returns as required.
- B&O Tax:
- Prepare and file the WA State Department of Revenue Combined Excise Tax Return.
- Tax Compliance:
- Prepare and file quarterly Form 941 and annual Forms 940, W-3, W-2, 1096, and 1099.
- Insurance Setup:
- Assist clients with insurance setup as needed.
- Chart of Accounts:
- Rework or create chart of accounts and classifications tailored to clients' financial needs.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and familiarity with digital tools to improve efficiency.
- Advanced knowledge of payroll processing and Washington State tax regulations.
- Expertise in financial reporting, accounts payable, invoicing, and tax preparation (Forms 941, 940, W-3, W-2, 1096, 1099).
- Experience with sales and use tax filings, B&O tax filings, and other regulatory compliance requirements.
- Competence in setting up insurance and customizing chart of accounts to meet client needs.
