General Summary of the Position
The Electrical Engineer will design, maintain, and optimize electrical systems for midstream processing plant construction and related facilities. This role emphasizes ensuring system reliability, compliance with safety regulations, and operational efficiency through hands-on problem-solving and close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (following are accountabilities included but not limited to):
- Designing, developing, and maintaining electrical systems for gas processing plants and midstream facilities such as compressor stations and storage facilities.
- Conduct power system studies, load calculations, area classifications and system integration to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Oversee installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical equipment, including motors, transformers, switchgear, and control panels as needed.
- Working with vendors and clients to troubleshoot electrical issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies during project execution.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical and civil engineers, to achieve project objectives.
- Manage vendor relationships, review technical specifications, and evaluate bids for electrical equipment and services.
- Provide technical support for SCADA, automation, and instrumentation systems.
- Prepare and review project documentation, including electrical drawings, schematics, and as-built records.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and practices to improve operational efficiency and safety.
- Manage work outsourced to third-party vendors for electrical work and installation.
- Performing other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the business.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in electrical design software (e.g., ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, AutoCAD Electrical) and familiarity with PLC programming.
- Strong understanding of NFPA, NEC, IEEE, and API standards applicable to the midstream industry.
- Ability to successfully function in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish work goals.
- Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.

Education, Training and Experience:
- Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent from a university.
- 5 years of relevant experience in the Energy, Oil and gas or midstream industry preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Work Context:
- Regularly works in the office but may be required to visit fabrication and assembly facilities as needed. At those facilities, must be able to work in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and other particles.
- Some extended hours may be required to meet project schedules.
