General Summary of the Position
Operates Computer Aided Design (CAD) computer system, to create, update and modify both routine and more challenging drawings to be utilized by employees in fabrication and assembly of modular gas processing plants.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (following are accountabilities included but not limited to):
- Self directs work when given assignment with limited interaction of supervisor. Capable of leading a small team to complete task/design.
- Serves as a technical resource to engineers and designers.
- Provides potential solutions to complex issues. Can act independently to develop drawings on greenfield project. Can review vendor drawing and identify issues correctly.
- Serve as resource to review and suggest solutions as needed.
- Identifies changes in scope of work during a small to mid-sized project and produces drawing changes as needed to stay within budget and schedule. Maintains level of performance under uncertain or unstructured conditions. Balances individual performance requirements with the demands for team participation.
- Acts as a field resource to assist construction in field resolution on issues
- Continuously looks for ways to improve processes for customers and makes recommendations for improvements.
- Takes the initiative to meet or exceed the quality and expected outcome requirements of internal and external clients. Complies with company and department procedures and industry standards to produce quality deliverables.
- Train and lead less experienced team members.

Skills and Abilities

Education, Training and Experience:
- Technical or vocational degree preferred in relevant field.
- Working knowledge of piping design in gas processing industry is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, CADWorx and other 3-D experience is preferred.
- Between seven and eighteen years of experience with 3D Modeling and piping design.
Work Context:
- Regularly works in the office but may be required to visit fabrication and assembly facilities as needed. At those facilities, must be able to work in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and other particles.
- Some extended hours may be required to meet project schedules.
