About This Position:
We are looking for a motivated Purchasing Assistant to join our team at Porta-King Building Systems. In this entry-level position, you will assist with the procurement of materials and services required for our operations. Your role will focus on supporting the purchasing team, ensuring the materials are obtained at the best possible price, quality, and delivery time. You'll work closely with multiple departments to ensure smooth production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in sourcing and purchasing materials, equipment, and services needed for manufacturing operations.
- Maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors and help monitor supplier performance.
- Support the purchasing team in negotiating pricing, delivery terms, and payment schedules.
- Help process purchase orders based on production schedules and inventory needs.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with placing reorders to avoid stockouts.
- Ensure that materials purchased meet quality standards and specifications.
- Keep accurate records of all purchasing transactions and supplier communications.
- Assist with addressing supplier issues or discrepancies, such as deliveries, invoices, or product quality concerns.
- Provide support in the development and improvement of purchasing policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure the timely availability of materials for production.
