Bartender

JB's Hideout in Blue Mound is seeking a PART-TIME BARTENDER to join our JB’s Family. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service and will be responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere, preparing and serving drinks, and ensuring that customers have an enjoyable experience. You will play a key role in maintaining the bar area and collaborating with other staff members to deliver outstanding service.

The schedule for this position is as follows:

• Sundays 10:45am-6pm
• Every Other Saturday 10:45am-at least 6pm
• Other shifts, when needed, will include:
• Monday-Friday 11:45am-6pm
• Monday-Thursday 5:50pm-12am
• Friday and Saturday 5:50pm-at least 10pm
• Friday and Saturday 10pm-2am (starting time could be earlier at times)
• Holidays (hours vary depending on Holiday)
• Events (hours vary depending on the event)

The ideal Bartender will meet the following:

Requirements:

• 21 or over
• Have reliable transportation
• Flexible availability
• On time, dependable, and reliable
• Eager to work
• Sociable/People Person
• Positive attitude and excellent communication skills to be able to interact effectively with customers and team members
• Able to walk/stand for long periods of time
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Able to bend and lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked, and cleaned
• Proficient in basic math skills for handling cash transactions and managing tabs

Qualifications:

• Bartending experience preferred, but not required
• Illinois BASSET preferred, but not required and must obtain within 1 week after hire
• Illinois Food Handler's Certificate preferred, but not required and must obtain within 1 week after hire

Bartender Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

• Check IDs and confirm they meet legal drinking age and laws
• Comply with all State, County, and Local Liquor and Gaming Laws
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes or customer preferences
• Interact with customers, take orders, and serve food and drinks
• Assess customer needs and preferences and make recommendations
• Monitor customer behavior to ensure responsible alcohol service
• Restock bar inventory and supplies
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area
• Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately using SkyTab POS system
• Cleaning, sweeping, and mopping
