Who we’re looking for

JB Steel is seeking skilled and experienced Journeyman experienced with commercial concrete, structural steel, and pre-engineered metal buildings to join our team.

Your workday might look like this

Trade specific commercial construction activities; commercial concrete, structural steel install, PEMB erection as well as:

• Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret construction blueprints and plans to determine specifications and material requirements.
• Measurement and Layout: Accurately measure and lay out work areas, ensuring precise alignment and proper elevation.
• Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Quality Control: Inspect work ensuring quality standards and project specifications.
• Team Collaboration: Work effectively with other tradespeople, supervisors, and project managers to ensure timely project completion.
• Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and care for tools and equipment used.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of experience
• Proficiency in using trade tools and equipment.
• Thorough understanding of commercial construction.
• Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints, plans, and specifications.
• Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting heavy materials, standing for long periods, and working in various weather conditions.
• Keen eye for detail and ability to produce quality work.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team and supervisors.
• Ability to identify and resolve issues that may arise during construction.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
