What You'll Do:
- Assist in applying planning principles, policies, regulations, and development standards from current planning projects, including land development regulations, zoning codes, and design standards
- Support the development of planning studies and reports to assist in planning projects and regulatory updates
- Help facilitate public participation and community engagement activities, including attending meetings and gathering feedback
- Assist in communicating technical issues and planning practices to various audiences through reports and presentations
- Contribute to the development of planning reports and initiatives based on community needs, concerns, and priorities, using both qualitative and quantitative data
- Attend public workshops, hearings, and meetings to observe and support the presentation of planning information
- Assist in gathering and organizing planning materials for use by community groups, government agencies, and developers
- Learn about key planning issues, including land use policy, development regulations, transportation planning, environmental planning, and economic development
- Support GIS data collection and basic analysis under the guidance of senior planners
- Assist with general administrative tasks and project management support as needed, ensuring all work is completed on time and in an organized manner
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's Degree in Planning, Urban Studies, Geography, or a related field
- Strong interest in community planning, land use, zoning codes, and development regulations
