SHIPPING SUPERVISOR-2ND SHIFT

Job Title:  Shipping Supervisor

Location: JBS, Omaha

Reporting to:  Shipping General Foreman

Essential Job Functions:

• Manage the daily operation of the shipping department, ensuring the loading and shipping of trailers is done to company and customer expectations
• Read and analyze work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs
• Maintaining KPI goals
• Ensure proper USDA compliance by performing daily safety walks correcting any non-compliance issues
• Supervising hourly workforce, motivating and managing employees to ensure highest productivity
• Work closely with the traffic department to ensure timely deliveries
• Track employee hours through Kronos system, correcting any issues when necessary
• Contributes to the ongoing development of JBS policies and procedures
• Perform all other duties as assigned by General Foreman

Experience Required:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent, preferred but not required
• Minimum 2 years’ experience working in meat processing or manufacturing facility preferred but not required.
• Experience leading a team preferred but not required

Skills/Abilities Required:

• Strong verbal and written communication and organization skills
• Ability to effectively manage people
• Problem solving and leadership abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Must be able to work in very cold, damp, loud environments with slick floors
• Must be able to work flexible hours including some overtime and weekends
• Willingness to travel at least 25% of the time
