Job Title: Shipping Supervisor
Location: JBS, Omaha
Reporting to: Shipping General Foreman
Essential Job Functions:
- Manage the daily operation of the shipping department, ensuring the loading and shipping of trailers is done to company and customer expectations
- Read and analyze work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs
- Maintaining KPI goals
- Ensure proper USDA compliance by performing daily safety walks correcting any non-compliance issues
- Supervising hourly workforce, motivating and managing employees to ensure highest productivity
- Work closely with the traffic department to ensure timely deliveries
- Track employee hours through Kronos system, correcting any issues when necessary
- Contributes to the ongoing development of JBS policies and procedures
- Perform all other duties as assigned by General Foreman
Experience Required:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent, preferred but not required
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in meat processing or manufacturing facility preferred but not required.
- Experience leading a team preferred but not required
Skills/Abilities Required:
- Strong verbal and written communication and organization skills
- Ability to effectively manage people
- Problem solving and leadership abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Must be able to work in very cold, damp, loud environments with slick floors
- Must be able to work flexible hours including some overtime and weekends
- Willingness to travel at least 25% of the time
