Shipping Lead
Summary:
The Shipping Lead assists in supervising the daily functions of our fast pace fulfillment department by meeting daily customer/client demands. They are responsible for keeping up to date on all small carrier changes, regulations and customer needs. Job duties may also include picking, packaging, keeping traceability on all inventory, opening and/or closing the floor daily. This shift runs from Friday through Sunday 6:45am to 7:30pm (Work three 12's get paid an extra 4 hours!)
Responsibilities:
- Use software to track, check, prioritize and route orders.
- Inspect labels, barcodes and other features of completed orders.
- Investigate issues regarding shipped orders.
- Ensure information is accurately logged daily.
- Ensure shipments are loaded timely and accurately.
- Maintain safety, security, quality, housekeeping and sanitation programs, as applicable.
- Follows and assists in enforcing employee compliance to Standard Operating Procedures, policies, work rules or guidelines, and safety/health regulations.
- Act as a resource on operations matters, providing guidance, assistance and support associates.
- Open/Close the floor.
- Other duties as assigned.
Abilities/Skills/Knowledge Requirements:
- Shipping experience
- Desire for continuous improvement and growth
- Experience in customer service and computers or equivalent training
- Writing, math and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to manage small projects and work independently
- Strong decision making
- Organizational skills and detailed oriented with a quality mindset
- Ability to work within a deadline and handle interruptions
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods, climb ladders, reach overhead and lift up to 30 to 50 lbs occasionally
