The Service Aftermarket Engineer is a subject matter expert in machine capabilities, processes, and performance requirements. This individual will actively engage in aftermarket product development initiatives, sustainability solutions, and complex customer problem resolution. Responsible for identifying and developing innovative and creative solutions to time-sensitive and complex issues using independent judgment.

- Work in conjunction with the Customer Care Director and Customer Care Management Team to understand and support regional development strategies.
- Utilize advanced Engineering knowledge to pinpoint solutions for complex systems.
- Identify, implement, and commercialize aftermarket features, upgrades, and retrofits that can be developed internally through Product Development.
- Contribute to market communication on product lines including sales arguments, payback analysis, sales support materials, presentation materials.
- Assist the Customer Care team with market launch and product training packages (internal and external).
- Maintain strong customer relationships and act as an expert resource to aid in influencing relationships at higher customer levels.
- Develop and uphold expert knowledge of multiple JBT product lines and applications.
- Independently create functional & cost-effective designs/processes that meet complex specification requirements.
- Participate in creating designs, drawings, BOMs, specifications, etc., ensuring that projects meet specifications, standards, and performance requirements within areas of expertise.
- Collaborate with technical experts outside of JBT to provide support for solving complex problems.
EDUCTION AND SKILL QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1 - 4 (one to four) years of relevant experience in Design and Application Engineering.
- Extensive knowledge of capital equipment sales and marketing specifically in the food industry.
- Expertise in JBT sterilization product line(s) or similar type of machinery required.
- Ability to read & interpret applicable technical information such as 2D/3D drawings.
- Experience with project negotiations, multi-site interfaces, and commercial management of contract.
- Proficiency in using 2D/3D CAD Systems.
- Proficiency in using a PC with all MS applications, 2D/3D CAD systems, JDE ERP, and Salesforce.
- Understanding of internal/external financial factors affecting the sales process.
- Possession or ability to obtain a valid Passport.
- Demonstrated ability to apply advanced laws, principles, theorems & mathematics or industry knowledge in the improvement & development of technologies.
- Global understanding of the division businesses and the internal and external economic factors affecting the businesses. Understanding of internal economic factors affecting assignment areas (costs, margins, profit impact of decisions).
- Advanced knowledge of competing & alternative technologies.
RELATIONSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Primarily, this role is based in an office environment, requiring a significant amount of time sitting and operating a computer or workstation. However, the Customer Care Engineer also has the opportunity to engage with customers directly, traveling to various sites to understand and solve complex problems firsthand. The frequency of these trips varies based on project needs, and while some may require more extensive travel, these provide invaluable opportunities for learning, problem-solving, and building stronger customer relationships.
- At all times, safety precautions, such as potential exposure to noise, heavy equipment, temperature extremes, and chemicals, are taken into consideration when visiting shop floors, production, and process areas across JBT, Supplier, and Customer sites.
