JBT currently has a great opportunity for a Planning and Logistics Coordinator to join the Proseal team just south of Manchester.
Proseal UK Ltd is a company that designs and manufactures high quality tray sealing and conveying systems for the food industry and has manufacturing facilities in the UK, North America, and Australia. Having been established for 25 years, demand for the Proseal product is growing and we are responsible for developing many plastic-based alternatives for preserving the life of and carrying food safely. Formed in 1998, Proseal has not only become the leading manufacturer of tray sealing machinery and tooling in the UK but is now also recognised as a major force internationally with manufacturing facilities in United states and Australia along with offices in Ireland, Holland, Spain, Canada, South America, and Dubai.
Shift Pattern/Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, with a 30 minutes unpaid lunch break each day and two paid 15 minutes per day. A total of 40 hours per week.
Your new role:
Your role as Planning and Logistics Coordinators will handle and oversee the movement of goods across our businesses global reach to the point of consumption. This role facilitates communications with stakeholders across Proseal and other Business units, reports on activity and performs outreach to external parties, hauliers and logistical partnerships. Our goals are to make our processes as efficient as possible, maintain good relationships with suppliers, distributors, and vendors.
The Opportunity ...
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all activities undertaken and supervised are carried out in accordance with all current Health and Safety guidance, and that all shortcomings are actioned/reported as appropriate.
- Maintain and manage business unit production plans for Proseal’ portfolio of equipment. Conducting daily/weekly reviews with various departments Ensuring planning process runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Ensure communication flows between the planning team and supporting departments. Reviewing jobs and feeding back into reports as well as raising any risks to Operational Management.
- Facilitate the shipping of products from one destination to another. Arrange transportation and orchestrate deliveries to meet customer demand with little to no delay
- Tracks, traces, and updates the status of shipments
- Manages activities throughout the order fulfilment and transportation cycle to make sure established deadlines are met
- Continually reviews freight costs, transportation rates, and/or other indirect material spend to keep costs down where possible
Aptitudes Required:
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- A hands-on approach to work, with a willingness to lead from the front.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and their application in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong in problem solving, team building and decision making.
- Ability to establish and maintain relationships at all levels.
Experience:
- Basic knowledge of ISO standards and logistics-related laws and regulations (Inco-terms, import, export)
- Organizational, communication, and leadership skills, backed by previous success.
- Knowledge and understanding of a variety of manufacturing processes and components and of supply chain management
- Any experience from similar previous roles or relatable jobs is preferable
