About the Role
JC Porter is searching for a mission-driven VP of Accounting to lead accounting operations, support IPO readiness, and help drive financial strategy for a mission-driven company. This high-impact role will oversee financial reporting, tax, compliance, and internal controls for a rapidly growing business.
What You’ll Do
- Lead general ledger, reporting, and tax functions
- Design and scale accounting systems and internal controls
- Support long-term financial strategy and board reporting
- Guide budgeting, audits, and technical accounting
- Advise on M&A and public company transition planning
- Oversee tax strategy, filings, and compliance
What We’re Looking For
- 10 years of accounting experience, 5 in leadership roles
- Public company experience
- IPO-readiness experience
- Deep knowledge of GAAP, SEC reporting, and SOX
- Strong systems expertise (ERP, financial tools)
- Energy or infrastructure industry experience required
- Public accounting experience
