JCREMC is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Marketing & Communications Specialist (part-time or full-time) to develop, execute, and monitor marketing and communication programs targeting a diverse audience. This role includes coordinating projects, events, and initiatives for JCREMC and JCFiber, as well as evaluating campaign effectiveness and contributing to community engagement programs.
About Us
The founding fathers of the electric cooperative movement had strong ties to Indiana. One of the first electric cooperatives to serve a rural area in America is located right here in our state. In the 1930s, investor-owned utilities were not interested in serving rural areas, feeling it would not be profitable. But the leaders of the agricultural communities of rural America knew that electricity was vital to the progress of our country, and with federal funding available through the newly created Rural Electrification Administration (REA), cooperatives began springing up across America.
Founded in 1935, JCREMC began operations with 1,129 members. Today we serve over 21,000 members with over 1,650 miles of distribution line. Our mission has remained the same. In all areas of our operations, JCREMC is committed to safely and efficiently providing reliable electric services for our community.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute marketing initiatives to recruit and retain JCFiber consumers through email, direct mail, social media, and advertisements.
- Utilize tools like Google Analytics and UTM codes to assess campaign performance and lead conversion rates.
- Manage digital marketing opportunities, website content, and social media platforms.
- Organize and support community outreach programs (e.g., scholarships, youth programs, and Operation Round-Up®).
- Assist with logistics and communication materials for the annual business meeting.
- Create compelling written, photo, and video content for marketing collateral and advertising.
- Represent JCREMC/JCFiber in business and civic engagements.
Do you have what we are looking for?
- Associates degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Public Relations, or related fields (bachelor's preferred).
- 3-5 years of work experience in marketing or communications.
- Strong communication and writing skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe software, Google Analytics, and CRM tools.
- Graphic design and photo editing experience or willingness to learn.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Valid Indiana driver's license
