Data Governance Manager

This is a long term contract engagement, likely to be over a year. Our client (a large global bank) is based in NYC area with hybrid schedule preferred (2-3 days in office max per week). Due to client restrictions, candidates must be US Citizens or have a Green Card.

Role Overview

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs/challenges and translate into business requirements for strategic solutions
• Partner with leadership to define Data Management, Strategy, and Solutions vision and roadmap
• Develop presentations and present recommendations to senior leadership
• Support the process for sourcing external data ensuring adherence to data onboarding requirements
• Enhance the problem management process to identify, review, remediate and escalate data quality incidents to impacted stakeholders
• Identify critical data elements and define requirements to be considered as part of operational prioritization and planning
• Define, implement and maintain metadata and reference data standards and best practices to support data governance
• Enhance metadata management processes and repositories to ensure the accuracy and completeness of metadata documentation
• Partner with product and technology teams to develop conceptual and logical data models and document data flows
• Support strategic initiatives related to data warehousing and data lake implementation

Required Qualifications:

• Demonstrable Managerial level experience in data governance and data management domains such as data quality, reference data management, metadata management, etc.
• Strong understanding of data governance principles and data quality management concepts and best practices
• Experience with data quality programs and data profiling, data cleansing and data remediation techniques
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and supporting strategic / business transformation projects in a financial services setting
• Strong understand of data management tools (data quality, metadata, etc.)
