What are the responsibilities and job description for the VP - Leverage Finance position at JCW?
We're working with a leading financial institution that is actively looking to hire a Vice President – Leveraged Finance Credit professional to join their growing team in New York City.
This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, sponsor-backed transactions across a wide range of industries, with a strong focus on middle-market and upper-middle-market leveraged loans. You’ll play a critical role in credit underwriting, portfolio management, and deal structuring alongside a high-performing front-office team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead credit analysis and underwriting for new leveraged loan transactions, including LBOs, recapitalizations, and refinancings.
- Prepare detailed credit memos and present to senior credit committees.
- Conduct industry, business, and financial due diligence.
- Monitor and manage an active portfolio of leveraged loan positions.
- Partner closely with Relationship Managers, Investment Banking, and Risk teams.
Ideal Candidate:
- 7–10 years of relevant experience in leveraged finance, corporate credit, or investment banking.
- Strong background in sponsor finance or middle-market leveraged lending.
- Proven ability to assess complex capital structures and evaluate downside risk.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment.
- Bachelor’s degree required; CFA or MBA a plus.
