Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and direction for the electrical department. Develop and implement strategies to achieve Department goals and align with the JDI’s objectives.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of electrical projects. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality and safety standards.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of electrical manager, estimators, and project engineer. Foster a positive and productive work environment, support professional development, and address any personnel issues.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the Department’s market presence. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Prepare and manage the Department’s budget, including forecasting and controlling costs. Monitor financial performance and implement measures to achieve profitability targets.
- Ensure all electrical work adheres to industry standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Implement and enforce safety protocols and best practices on all projects.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients. Address client concerns, provide updates on project progress, and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
- Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, improve processes, and adopt new technologies. Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prepare and present regular reports on department performance, project status, and financial metrics to senior management. Provide insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are a plus.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in electrical engineering or project management within the industrial and construction services sector, including at least 3-5 years in a leadership role
- Have thorough knowledge of industrial electricity (technology, equipment, methods, etc.) as well as an understanding of Company and industry practices, electrical code requirements, processes, standards and their impact on project activities.
- Experience managing multiple electrical projects
- Proven leadership and team management abilities
- Ability to drive business development and growth initiatives.
- Must be computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Word, Excel, Outlook, Project
- Familiarity with construction project management software (Procore, Sage 300, Viewpoint, etc.) a plus
- Reading understanding contract documents and P&ID drawings
