As a motivated, revenue-producing chapter, our team plays a crucial role in funding life-changing research, advocacy, and community programs. In this role, you’ll support the Executive Director and fundraising team while managing donor cultivation, fundraising events, and chapter operations.
This is a hybrid position, requiring two in-office days per week (with flexibility during peak event times). An individual within the Indianapolis metro area is preferred.
Travel within the Chapter footprint as needed, with occasional evening and weekend work.
What You’ll Do:
Manage Chapter DIY and Challenge Programs
- Oversee and grow Breakthrough T1D Your Way and the Breakthrough T1D™ Run Challenge Program, providing tools, resources, and support to fundraisers.
- Recruit, engage, and coach participants in creating unique fundraisers and endurance challenges to maximize impact.
- Assist fundraisers in customizing pages, sharing stories, and tracking progress.
- Build relationships to sustain engagement and fundraising success.
- Monitor performance, track progress, and identify growth opportunities.
Signature Events & Peer-to-Peer Fundraising
- Oversee event planning and specifics for fundraisers such as our walks and galas.
- Lead silent auction initiatives for all galas within the chapter. This involves working with volunteers on the procurement committee and communicating regularly with the Procurement Chair.
- Lead walk and gala registration efforts, ensuring a seamless experience for participants.
- Cultivate relationships with a portfolio of walkers and team captains, providing personalized encouragement, coaching, and support to maximize their fundraising efforts.
- Develop and implement strategies to engage participants, motivate fundraising, and strengthen team commitment.
- Track progress, provide regular check-ins, and offer resources to help walkers and teams reach and exceed their goals.
Community Engagement & Outreach
- Manage logistics for community events, including RSVPs, catering, signage, communications, activities and data entry.
- Serve as an ambassador for Breakthrough T1D’s mission and research efforts.
CRM & Data Management
- Maintain accurate donor records and track development activities in Salesforce, Luminate and Greater Giving.
- Pull and analyze reports to support donor engagement strategies.
Who You Are:

- A strong communicator with excellent written and verbal skills.
What You Bring:
- 2 years of administrative, nonprofit, or fundraising experience.
- Strong customer service and event planning skills, particularly for high-level donors.
- Experience preparing presentations, reports, and business correspondence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), and Salesforce CRM.
- Knowledge of Greater Giving and other donor management tools is a plus.
