Job Summary: The Assistant General Manager supports the General Manager in overseeing the Front of House operations, including hospitality, personnel management, financial performance, and property maintenance. They are responsible for ensuring the execution of service and beverage programs at required standards, while promoting and embodying “enlightened hospitality.”

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in managing the dining room, bar, lounge, and private events teams, ensuring a cohesive and motivated staff.
  • Lead and supervise Captains, Servers, Bussers, Food Runners, Barbacks, and Bartenders, focusing on recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and operational functionality of the restaurant and its equipment.
  • Foster positive guest experiences through exceptional service and personalized guest interactions.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and manage budgets, optimize profitability, and achieve financial goals.
  • Ensure staff training on service standards, product knowledge, and dining room organization.
  • Monitor daily operations, ensuring smooth service flow, staffing efficiency, and guest satisfaction.
Qualifications:
  • 2-3 years of management experience in a high-quality restaurant setting.
  • Strong knowledge of wines, sake, spirits, service techniques, and culinary terminology.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and basic database programs.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
Physical & Environmental Demands:
  • Must be able to stand, walk, use hands, and occasionally lift objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Work in a dynamic environment with moderate to high noise levels and variable conditions.
Financial & Personnel Objectives:
  • Contribute to financial planning and performance evaluations.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels and provide leadership to all team members.
  • Ensure operational efficiency and adherence to service standards.
Service & Guest Engagement:
  • Ensure all dining areas are adequately staffed with trained employees.
  • Monitor and improve service quality by maintaining strong floor presence and guest relations.
  • Maximize table availability and guest satisfaction by working closely with reservations and door staff.
Administrative Responsibilities:
  • Assist with budget preparation, financial tracking, and operational reports.
  • Address guest feedback and concerns promptly, ensuring satisfaction.
This role requires someone passionate about hospitality, with a proven track record of leadership and operational excellence in a high-end restaurant environment.

Salary : $80,000 - $95,000
