The mission of McLain Community High School is to provide an alternate path to a life of learning, opportunity and choice. McLain is more than just one school. McLain?s unique design provides a variety of school programs housed at one location. McLain?s programs have been tailored to meet the needs of the diverse students and families that we support. Students earn their high school diploma by completing the graduation requirements as outlined by Jeffco Public Schools. Our programs prepare students to be college and work-ready upon graduation. Students are provided opportunities that encourage self-confidence and success. Our personalized communication with parents and guardians also supports our students in their education. McLain students come to us for a variety of reasons. The majority of students at McLain are working, parenting, volunteering or are enrolled in Warren Tech programs. ***Annual salary noted above is based on an 8 hour day and full days worked calendar. Any position that is less than a full FTE/8 hours per day or late start will be prorated accordingly.*
PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENT
The successful new hire or rehired candidate will be responsible to complete and incur the fingerprinting and processing fee of $54.50 through an appropriate fingerprinting vendor and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, within 48 hours of offer acceptance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
SUMMARY Provide leadership to McLain High School and JCAPPP program. Coordinate other school Alternative Cooperative Education (ACE) programs in the District, including at-risk programs, work-experience study (WES) program, teen pregnancy, programs, and child care programs for teen parents.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Seek opportunity for students, staff, and program.
- Communicate with staff.
- Provide proactive leadership and management. Practice intuitive leadership
- Ensure communication within school and among staff.
- Operate ethically, focus on what is important, evaluate the what and why.
- Participate in school meetings.
- Participate in District meetings.
- Ensure appropriate levels of technology.
- Evaluate teachers.
- Write grants.
- Assign priorities.
- Discipline students.
- Create goals and establish long term focus.

EXPERIENCE Minimum of three years' of licensed experience in a public or nonpublic elementary or secondary school, and a minimum of two years' educational administrative and/or comparable administrative leadership.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING Bachelor's degree, plus additional course work required for certification or licensure.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Colorado Principal License issued or in process.
