ABOUT THE SCHOOL/DEPARTMENT
Extended School Year (ESY) is a summer school program, approximately five weeks in duration, for Special Education students who have been determined eligible for additional supports by their IEP team. ESY staff includes, but is not limited to principals, teachers, paraeducators, and paraprofessionals.

All Extended School Year (ESY) Behavior Analyst positions will be filled through this job posting for the following locations:
- North:- Vanderhoof Elementary
- Central - Sobesky Academy (Session 1 Elementary and Session 2 Secondary)
- South - Governor's Ranch
- Mountains - West Jefferson Elementary
Hiring preference will be given to current Jeffco Public Schools Employees.
ESY will be Monday - Friday mornings and held in two sessions. Session 1 will be June 2 - June 13 and Session 2 will be June 16 - June 27 (No classes on June 19 for Juneteenth).
You may choose to work either session or both and can state your preference at the time of interview.
Licensed staff will have two mandatory preperation days on May 29 and May 30.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENT
The successful new hire or rehired candidate will be responsible to complete and incur the fingerprinting and processing fee of $54.50 through an appropriate fingerprinting vendor and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, within 48 hours of offer acceptance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
SUMMARY Assist with the development of educational, behavioral, and social skills practices with students on the autism spectrum and other behavioral disabilities in a variety of education settings.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Identify target behaviors and develop functionally based interventions including antecedent strategies, replacement behaviors, reinforcement systems, and problem behavior consequence strategies.
Conduct functional behavioral assessments and support writing behavior intervention plans.
Communicate with school teams, administrators and families when appropriate.
Create and facilitate trainings for the purpose of professional learning.
Establish and maintain rapport with students, school staff and families.
Assist in the creation of and review initial, annual and eligibility IEP's, BIP, and progress reports
Provide feedback on goals, inclusion, measurement criteria, fade plans and interventions/teaching strategies
Cooperatively participate with building teams in designing programming and services for students with a variety of disabilities and needs
Manage a robust and complex schedule to support students and school teams
Develop visual strategies to assist students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)/or other behavioral challenges.
Visually structure the classroom environment for students to be successful.
Provide curriculum ideas and develop educational programs for students and provide feedback to staff in an individualized manner regarding the implementation of the programming.
Meet regularly with supervisor and behavior analyst team to problem solve and collaborate.

QUALIFICATIONS Hold a valid Colorado teaching license or a Special Service Provider license. Evidence of Master's level coursework in the area of applied behavioral analysis or BCBA. CPI training and three years' experience working with students with autism and/or behavioral challenges in the educational setting preferred.
EXPERIENCE All grade levels of students with a variety of disabilities. Comprehensive knowledge of the IEP process. Exposure to a variety of communication, social/emotional, behavioral, and educational needs. Experience with functional behavior assessments and creating appropriate behavior plans.

The employee may occasionally be required to run a short distance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds with assistance. The employee must be able to push/pull 150 pounds for 30 feet. After being offered a position, candidates must pass a physical exam prior to starting work.
WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
MENTAL FUNCTIONS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate, instruct, and use interpersonal skills. Frequently required to compare, analyze, copy, coordinate, compute, synthesize, evaluate, compile, and negotiate.
