Jeffco Virtual Academy (JVA) is a statewide online/blended option school located in Lakewood, CO serving 300 full time students and 800 part time students in Jefferson and surrounding counties. JVA is designated as an Alternative Education Campus by the Colorado Department of Education and as such we proudly serve a wide range of students who have a variety of needs. Students choose JVA for the smaller setting, the flexible schedule, and the strong, personalized support.

Our curriculum is asynchronously delivered to students in grades 6-12 via the Schoology and Edgenuity Learning Management Systems. We have three programs for full time students: traditional middle school, traditional high school, and Targeted Actions for Graduation (TAG). We offer a blended option for all programs. Part time students access their classes entirely remotely and have the same online support as full time students.

JVA Summer School Program - Online operates from June 2 through June 26, 2025, Monday through Thursday. Four teachers will be hired based on certifications in the following subjects:

- 1 teacher with an ELA endorsement

• -1 teacher with a math endorsement

- 1 teacher with both a science and math endorsement

- 1 teacher with both an ELA and social studies endorsement

It is highly desirable for applicants to have previous online summer school experience and proficiency with Edgenuity and Securly. Teachers hired into these positions must be able to virtually proctor all tests and quizzes in Securly during appointed times.

Compensation schedules for Jeffco Schools can be found here. Starting salary for non-licensed roles is based on the candidate's relevant work experience and education. Additional considerations may be given for job-specific certifications and skills. Applicants should submit all relevant and verifiable education, training and work experiences at the time of application. The successful new hire or rehired candidate will be responsible to complete and incur the fingerprinting and processing fee of $54.50 through an appropriate fingerprinting vendor and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, within 48 hours of offer acceptance.

Summary: The summer school online teacher designs and implements effective instruction to meet the needs of the students in the content area (s) required.

Qualifications:
1. Hold current endorsement with a valid Colorado License in the area Elementary Education or Special Education generalist or specialist.
2. Demonstrate skills and abilities to ensure the success of all students.
3. Have experience instructing students in a Jeffco sponsored online environment with multiple instructional levels and varying ages within the same classroom setting.
4. Demonstrate skill in designing and implementing appropriate instruction for students in the content areas required.
5. Possess excellent communication skills in order to facilitate communication with all members of the summer school staff, students, parents and administrators.
6. Demonstrate ability in providing differentiation, interventions and extensions for all students.
7. Effectively collaborate with teammates.
8. Demonstrate organizational skills that ensure student contact time is purposeful and beneficial to each student.
9. Demonstrate ability to supervise an effective online and face to face classroom with student interaction that resulted in student achievement.
10. Successfully completed the Teaching Students in the Hybrid Environment online professional development course.
11. Recommendation from current principal.
